"Our hearts salute Jamaica; triumphant, proud and free!"

Sweet Jamaica events celebrate Jamaica. We craft events that put the vibrant cultural heritage of a very special island in the Caribbean sun at  the center.

Wherever you find us, Jamaicans go hard. We work hard and play harder. Sweet Jamaica hosts events that bring out the Jamaican in you.

Sweet Jamaica

Mek dem come...

The Sweet Jamaica Independence Festival 2024 is the flagship event of the Sweet Jamaica  events powered by Big Rigg Production, Inc.

...sing and dance!

Jamaica is the home of rock steady, ska, mento, reggae and dancehall, and a whole lot of rhythm fusion that keeps us grooving.
No "big heel boot and bellfoot pants"  required but you haffi sing along and drop foot to Jamaican folk and festival songs, and popular music with veterans and youngbloods on o
ne stage.

By the time the night is over we will have you at a street dance in Jamaica if only in your mind.

...eat and drink!

Our cuisine is a sweet amalgamation of the jerked meats, soups , fruits and root vegetables that were staples in the diet of the native Tainos; the rich flavorful, peppery stews, sweet puddings and porridges of our West African roots; the herbal teas and spicy curries of our East Indian and Chinese ancestors.

Fruit juices made from plums, guavas, apples and bananas conjure up images of a summer day in the sweetest island on Earth

Rum. It’s a food group all by itself in Jamaica. The former jewel in the English crown where the best sugarcane was planted is still the source of some of the most sought after rums in the world. Paired with a sweet fruit juice or drink, usually made with delectable island fruits, the result is an unforgettable rum punch.
(Must be 21 or over to drink responsibly.)

...laugh and play!

Sweet Jamaica is about those things that conjure up images of a Jamaica of the past and  present - a vibrant, colorful and joyful place where children still laugh and play football (soccer) and cricket in the road, and "dandy-shandy" and "stuck and release" outdoors; where a day at the river is still worth a pot of gold.
The young and the young at heart are all welcome to run up and down and have fun.

...give forward!

Real Jamaicans understand giving back and paying it forward. We appreciate what we have and believe “sharing is caring”. When we gather to celebrate, we are always mindful of differently-abled members of our communities. This and all our events going forward will work to build awareness about autism.
